Children in Russia study 4 years in primary school from 1 till 4 class, 5 years in the middle school from 5 till 9 class, 2 years in the higher school in 10 and 11 classes. Children who have the satisfactory exam-grade go to Professional schools or lyceums after 9 classes.
Professional schools give the same formation as 10, 11 class of school, but also working professions: the turner, the mechanic, the cook, the seller, the waiter, the hairdresser etc. Youth goes to work on factories, in shops, in hairdressing saloons etc. after the study in the Professional schools. Some of them continue training in technical school or University.
Children, who have the good or excellent exam-grade, go in technical schools (colleges) or in 10 class of school. The technical school (college) is an educational institution, intermediate between school and university. Technical schools give the same formation, as 10, 11 class of school. Professions in the Technical schools have higher level, than Professional school: the medical sister, the tutor of a kindergarten, the master on a site of a factory, the manager etc. Many students go to the technical school after 11 classes, and study 2 or 3 years. After technical school basically everyone go to Universities.
One teacher conducts all subjects from 1 till 4 class. Specialists teach children from 5 till 11 class. Math teachers work with 5 - 9 class. Some teachers take children in 5 class and conduct them up to 11.
In 5 and 6 classes children have 6 mathematics lessons in a week. In 7 - 11 class the mathematics shares on two subjects: algebra and geometry. In 7, 8, 9 classes there are 4 lessons of algebra and 2 lessons of geometry in a week. In 10 and 11 classes there are 3 lessons of algebra and 2 lessons of geometry in a week. Administration gives 1 or 2 additional hours for the profound studying of math for each class.
In 5 class we study natural numbers, decimal and ordinary fractions with identical denominators, powers with a parameter 2 and 3, operations with them, the elementary geometrical figures, the equations, we solve problems with the help of drawing up of the equation.
In 6 class we study the concept of number extends, negative numbers, operations with them, formulas, we work with geometrical figures.
In 7 class we study the rations and a proportion, we enter initial concept of function, we consruct the elementary diagrams. We begin studying geometry on a plane.
In 8 class the concept of function construction of diagrams of more complex(difficult) functions, decision of quadratics, various problems(tasks) extends begin.
In 9 class we study functions, we construct diagrams of more difficult functions, we start to study trigonometry.
In 10 and 11 classes we study the trigonometry, derivative, research of functions with the help of a derivative, integral, logarithms, indicative function, the equations with parameters, systems of the equations of all kinds.
